Foxed UP Theatre was brought into existence by seven actresses who, following their training, were inspired to work as an ensemble, taking risks with style, genre and process to create new pieces of theatre that would explore the ‘here and now’ and pose fundamental questions about the social, psychological, moral and philosophical constructions of ‘the self’ in relation to wider society.
FoxedUP casts its audience as witnesses to proceedings. They become complicit in the action and are occasionally given the power to influence the events that play out, should they wish to exercise it.
The company makes its own artistic decisions and is very much performer-led. Collaborators are carefully chosen for their imaginative, daring and unconventional approach to story-telling.
